We are excited to inform you that we are planning to launch a working group dedicated to Foundation Models for Tabular Data tasks. In the recent past, foundation models for NLP tasks (LLMs) have shown great progress in improving the accuracy of NLP task while making the algorithms more generalisable. However, the same advances are not there yet for Tabular Data. In this working group, we want to focus on broad question " What will it take to organise research effort around FM for Tabular Data". We want to organise ourselves to look at:
Important tasks for Tabular Data
Gaps between existing FMs and needs for Tabular Data Processing
Need for benchmark of Tabular Data
Novel Applications of FM for Tabular Data
